Masako Ikegami, Policy Expert Member

Masako Ikegami is a Policy Expert Member at the Global Policy Initiative. She is currently Professor of the Department of Political Science of Stockholm University. Since 1999 she has held other academic positions at the university. She was a POSCO Visiting Fellow at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii (April & July 2005) and a Rotary International Research Fellow at Uppsala University in Sweden (1987-1988). Prof. Ikegami researches on East Asian security studies by inter-disciplinary approach combining political-sociology, political-economy, and international relations. She holds a Ph.D. in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University (1998) and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Tokyo (1996).
